CygNet Software provides the following utilities for managing your EIEs. All CygNet utility files are found in the CygNet\Utilities folder on your host server.
To install and launch (start) the application or utility using version management:

Alternatively, browse to the CygNet\Utilities directory using Windows Explorer and double-click the program icon. You can also start an application or utility from a command line. These methods do not provide version management.

The BSAP Configurable Data Group Migration Utility converts any "Device Specific Data Group" to the new "Configurable Data Group." UIS commands using the previous device-specific data groups are also updated. |

The CygNet CRC Generator Utility is a protocol analyzer. It can be used to determine if a response returned from a field device has meaningful data in it, whether the response is formatted correctly, and if the response has noise in it. It can also perform ad hoc CRC calculations. |

The CygNet DDS Check Utility performs basic validity checking and repairs for common Device Definition Service (DDS) record inconsistencies. |

The CygNet DDS Command Copy Utility is used to copy UIS commands from one remote device to others within the same Device Definition Service (DDS). Its capabilities enable a user to make several different kinds of changes in a copy action. These changes include updating one or many commands within a single remote device, selected remote devices, or all remote devices of a certain type, deleting replaced commands, and updating command components in destination commands, among other things. |

The CygNet DDS Data Group Copy Utility is used to copy data groups from one remote device to others within the same Device Definition Service (DDS). Its capabilities enable a user to make several different kinds of changes in a copy action. These changes include updating one or many data groups within a single remote device, selected remote devices, or all remote devices of a certain type, deleting replaced data groups, and updating UDC mappings in destination data groups, among other things. |

The CygNet DDS Import/Export Utility provides a method for offline review and editing of device header records stored in the Device Definition Service (DDS). The device header record contains the Device ID, Facility ID, and Facility Ordinal. The source file is a .csv file and can be reviewed and edited using any text editor. |

The CygNet DDS Transaction Viewer utility provides useful DDS device and transaction information. |

DeviceCopy.exe |
The Device Copy utility enables you to make multiple "deep" copies of a device in the same Device Definition Service (DDS). Unlike the single "shallow" copy you can make in CygNet Explorer, this utility makes multiple copies simultaneously. |

The CygNet Device Template Manager utility is useful for validating device template files (both .dtf and .xml) against the current validation rules of a specific EIE, loading valid device template files to a Device Definition Service (DDS), and comparing differences between device template files, among other things. |

SocketMan.exe * |
The CygNet SocketMan utility is used for diagnosing TCP/IP communication problems. This tool helps determine if or where a communication connection is failing by allowing users to make a direct TCP/IP connection to a CDPD modem or a terminal server connected to a serial device. |
